So, I was trying out Audioscribe for the first time. I was running a video in one tab, and could clearly hear it when I switched back to Audioscribe. Audioscribe looked like it was picking up sound with the bars actively dancing. It said it recorded 45 seconds. But at the end, the transcript was just “Thank you. Thank you.” When I tried to play back the recording - no sound. 45 seconds showed on the bar, but no sound. Confusing. So - then I tried it when I spoke (the video was to simulate a lecture), and it worked fine. Then I tried the same video playing from my phone, again it worked fine. Is there something about recording sound coming from the speaker of the same machine as the microphone? It works with Voice In, which is why I’m so confused.
Hi Martin,
The system cancels out the speaker output from the microphone output. To make this work, open AudioScribe and the video on separate devices. That should work. (Like opening AudioScribe on your phone and video on your computer).
